I enjoy designing for print, creating engaging brands and working with typography. I always aim to bring an intelligent solution to my work.

I’m a 26 year old graphic designer based in Cardiff. Originally from Cornwall, I moved to Cardiff to study design and satisfy my obsession with typography. I have experience designing for both print and digital projects, working with both local and international clients.

Circa – D&AD Brief

I produced a series of 3 booklets as a supplement for the annual Typocircle release, Circular for the 2012 D&AD Graphic Design student brief.

I based the 3 issues on Rian Hughes, Studio 8 and Angus Hyland, all of whose work I greatly admire. Each issue contains an interview with the designer/studio and a selection of their work – I branded the series as ‘Circa’ as I wanted each to be based around the thoughts and opinions of the chosen graphic designer/studio.

I was awarded a Best of Year by Pentagram for my solution to the D&AD brief.

Zé Maria

Branding and print design for an award-winning Portuguese jazz musician, Zé Maria, targeting high-end hotels and boutique art festivals.

I created a bilingual brochure design to display Zé Maria’s history and expertise. Embracing strong photography and typography, the design had to inform potential clients about Zé Maria’s bespoke music creation service and create a strong first impression with his target audience.

The Baseline

A Typographical Survival Kit for new design students.

I decided to explore the role and importance of typography in design and consider how a new design student could be better prepared to utilise it. The project had to simplify a great deal of information and provide a fresh solution for creative students, I wanted it to both inform and inspire. My solution aims to encourage students to consider and to question their own design choices rather then trying to deliver all the answers.

A self promotional booklet I created for visitors to our end of year graduate show.

I created a take-away booklet for visitors and members of the creative industry that would allow me to show more examples of my work and provide a little more information about myself. An A3 poster pretend on 230gsm uncoated stock, folded into an 5 booklet, including a short paragraph about myself, each copy was eased in a plastic wallet complete with business card tucked inside.
